Before joining EnterpriseDB, I spent 4 years at Polycom, the leading maker of video communications equipment, focusing on the Services Supply Chain, Business Intelligence, Customer Data Management and Cloud Solutions. Prior to Polycom, I lead a supply chain consulting and systems integration company working with customers in the US, Canada, France, Germany and Switzerland. I have an extensive background in management, business consulting, systems integration, data management and business intelligence. I hold a Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat) in Computer Sciences from the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany.

This talk will review and summarize lessons learned from several years of providing 7X24 support for Postgres implementations, from dozens of migration assessments and from several years worth of Postgres architectural health checks. The talk identifies common problems that our customers have encountered and attempts to identify recommendations and best practices to improve adoption of Postgres in enterprise-level applications.
