This talk covers some of the high-level issues involved in choosing a specific logical replication system for use with PostgreSQL. We cover some of the differences between physical and logical replication and go into depth on the functioning of some of the available logical replication systems (Slony and Bucardo specifically) and cover strengths for each of these with example use-cases. We will also review some of the new PostgreSQL 9.4 infrastructure available for logical replication systems.
