Improved PostgreSQL monitoring with Remote Sinks
Presented by:
No video of the event yet, sorry!
This talk focuses on methods and technology for using measurements acquired from various PostgreSQL monitoring tools. Succeeding pgwatch2, pgwatch3 is packed with a number of new and exciting features. One such feature is the implementation of Remote Sinks in GSoC '24, which allows users to use their database measurements across varying storage formats and processing units. Sinks can be understood as separate units where you can not only store your measurements but also run various processes on them to derive essential insights.
The goal of this talk is to introduce the audience to how having a 'remote sink setup' can help improve the way we use PostgreSQL and how we can extend this functionality to create advanced sink implementations according to our requirements.
