Island Peak, also known as 'Imja Tse' in Nepali, is located in the Khumbu (Everest) Region of Eastern Nepal. It is located on the Chukung Glacier, which connects Lhotse and Amadablam Peaks. Imja Tse was given the English name Island Peak climbing team led by Eric Shipton in 1952 AD because of its striking location in the middle of Chukung Valley, resembling an island in an ice sea.
