John Hammink was an early senior engineer in a variety of roles at Skype and F-Secure, and after stints around the world at Nokia, Cisco and Mozilla, became a content creator and developer evangelist at Arm Treasure Data (where he occasionally spoke at meetups and conferences about Fluentd). Since then he's focused on producing multi-use content for early stage startups, including Algorithmia, RadixDLT, and Alooma. Recently, he’s become the Developer Advocate at Aiven.io.

The way that PostgreSQL is used and supported nowadays is widely variable and so are the sorts of companies that have taken it into use, either as components of their own services or as providers of services to other PostgreSQL users.

In this talk, we take the 10,000 foot view of the PostgreSQL ecosystem, highlighting the subsets of the ecosystem and taking a brief survey at who's doing what.
