EnterpriseDB

Before joining EnterpriseDB, I spent 4 years at Polycom, the leading maker of video communications equipment, focusing on the Services Supply Chain, Business Intelligence, Customer Data Management and Cloud Solutions. Prior to Polycom, I lead a supply chain consulting and systems integration company working with customers in the US, Canada, France, Germany and Switzerland. I have an extensive background in management, business consulting, systems integration, data management and business intelligence. I hold a Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat) in Computer Sciences from the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany.

Deploying Postgres on Kubernetes to achieve a highly available, monitored and robust environment, is challenging, it requires domain knowledge most developers don’t have. One way to reduce the complexity is to use a Kubernetes Operator, which manages custom resources such as Postgres to simplify the database life cycle. Using the EDB Postgres Operator, developers can easily deploy, scale, upgrade, and reconfigure Postgres clusters running in Kubernetes while protecting against data loss or unavailability. Join Aziz Rahman (Lead Architect for EDB Container Platform) and Marc Linster (SVP, Product Development) to learn more about how to run Postgres natively on Kubernetes.

Highlights include:

  • Deploy Postgres clusters of any size, including streaming replication clusters, to maintain high availability
  • Scale-up Postgres clusters with extra replicas to optimize for read availability during peak workloads
  • Enforce standardized cluster configurations such as security settings, resilience, resource limits, and more for better governance
