The future is now. The PostgreSQL community has built one of the most powerful and well-respected databases on the planet. Its versatility is unparalleled. What got us here however will not get us to where we need to go next. The next generation of users and developers think differently and have different expectations than most of us do. They expect easy. They expect a push button. They expect an unparalleled user experience. If we don’t give it to them they have shown us they are willing to sacrifice performance, scalability, and security for the sake of ease. This situation calls to all of us to build and think differently as a community. Percona is doing our part, focused on building a platform that meets these new expectations, but we can’t do it alone. Let’s take the next big leap together.
